Annual summer event

Last saturday former students and instructors were gathered    at the Academy for the annual summer event. We started early at the Academy with different team exercises related to close protection among other we had competitions in driving and shooting. It was a great day and it is nice to see old faces again and for new students this was a change to expand their network. The coming weeks several of the students are together on a CP operation. Well done guys and congratulations to the winning team.

Kosovo Security Force training

The SIRAS representative in Kosovo, mr. Drizan Shala, had the privilige to visit with the Rapid Reaction Brigade (RRB) of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). Brigadier-General Xhevahir Geci, Commander of the RRB, was very friendly in welcoming mr. Drizan Shala in talks regarding the future transformation of KSF into Kosovo Armed Forces.

The Brigadier-General and his team demonstrated a visionary and very committed engagement into the transformations to come. SIRAS ACADEMY, supported by our office in Kosovo, will be able to provide the training courses to help enable the tranformation, and the content of these courses were discussed during the meeting.

The SIRAS ACADEMY courses will train both officers and non-commissioned personel of the RRB and the rest of KSF. We are right at the brink of a very real cooperation between the KSF and SIRAS ACADEMY, and we proud to be able to contribute to the empowering of the brave forces of Kosovo.

2015 is in the books

Happy New Year
Over the year SIRAS Academy once again cemented our position as a market leading provider of unique security training, and SIRAS Group consistently delivered top of the shelve security solutions on the international stage.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of our agents working with us on national as well as international operations. Thanks to you we have received tremendous positive feedback from clients and all other personnel that we have cooperated with throughout the year. It makes me proud when I receive personal emails from clients who just want to express their gratitude for our service with words like “Very professional” or “The best”.

It also makes me proud when I see the professional demeanor of our agents in the media showing awareness and providing security.

At the academy we have made some great improvements that I am really thrilled with. Our new physical training area, and the huge tactical gear display are some of the things that make me happy every day that I spend at the academy.

There’s no slowing down in 2016. We will continue to make improvements at SIRAS Academy to ensure that we provide our students with the best possible learning environment. Also new projects are under way for SIRAS Group internationally, and I look forward to announce some of the add ons to you guys.

Enjoy 2016 – and make sure to make it count.

Best wishes,

Kent Haakonsson
CEO SIRAS

J-turn performed by a guy in wheelchair
This is done by a guy in a wheelchair with very little strength in his legs. He attended the VIP driver course last weekend at the Academy.

,,He has never been driving a vehicle with manual gear. Today I taught him to do that and not only drive – but perform a PIT manuever. In this video he is doing a reverse 180 or J-turn. I have trained many hundreds of guys the last 15 years and never seen anything like this – This is ABSOLUTELY amazing and I am very very happy on his behalf” Kent Haakonsson, Chief instructor.

Annual Christmas dinner for bodyguards

Despite minor damages at the academy, the storm could not prevent us from having the annual Christmas dinner.

As always it was a really nice day with different activities and good food. It was good to see both new and old faces again.

We’ve definitely got some new ideas and alternative takedowns for the bodyguards

We look forward to another great day with you guys, when we open the doors to the Academy next summer.
